GET INVOLVED!
There are 3 ways you can assist Island Cat Rescue as a volunteer: Foster, Transport, and volunteer at the Island Cat Café.
FOSTER
There are many opportunities to foster kittens and cats on the island of Sint Maarten. Sadly, we too often receive notification of kittens and cats that have been abandoned or were born in the wild. When this happens, the kittens and cats are vetted by Dr. Ruth at the Island Vet and healthy kittens and cats are then placed with foster families until they are adopted or can join other kittens at the Island Cat Café Adoption Center in Maho.
Fostering is a very rewarding experience and a critical part of transitioning kittens and cats from living in the wild to living in a home. Fostering truly saves lives! If you foster for Island Cat Rescue, the length of time is flexible and the foster placement will be temporary. We will work with you and your availability. All necessary fostering supplies including litter, food and toys will be provided to each foster.
If you would like to learn more about fostering opportunities, please contact us.
TRANSPORT
We often have families that do not live on the island of Sint Maarten who want to adopt one of our kittens or cats. When this happens, we need the support of volunteer flight partners to transport the kitten or cat to an airport close to where the adopter lives. The adopter will meet the volunteer at the airport and collect their new feline family member. All of the travel expenses and documentation are provided and there is no cost for the volunteer.
